Lovely! All clipped, clean and smart!

As it was such a lovely day yesterday, I spent the afternoon subjecting Barney to the beauty parlour! He now has a full clip including legs, and he was then bathed and dried in the sunshine. What a smart boy. I'm trying not to think about the fact that within about two weeks he'll look like a complete hairy grease monkey and I'll have to do it all again - probably without the bath though! Can someone come up with a way of keeping the just clipped and clean look for the whole of the winter?!

Yer clipped mine at the weekend complete with heart on his bum (he is a kids pony) Cant help you with keeping his hair short but can with the clean thing. When youve groomed of an alternative if your short on time. Put a few drops of sugical spirit in warm water and when youve brushed get your sponge wet then ring out and wipe your horse all over. Realy works a treat in keeping them clean and gives them a lovely shine too. I fond this good after clipping instead of baths when the weathers yuck too.

After giving Cooper a full clip including legs off last week I got a bucket of warm water and put some dettol in it then scrubbed the grease out of his freshly clipped coat with a cloth. He was really enjoying it and it did make him all shiny instead of grimey.
