i just thought i would say, in case anyone was interested or having bitting issues that i have been working my horse in a flexi, loosering, peanut joint snaffle and he goes like an absolute dream (for him lol!!)
reasons for saying this are that
tried him in a happy mouth straightbar loosering went well altho slight issues with leaning. but he would always have a sore mouth - horrible sore patches in corners of mouth even if out hacking on a loose rein. i wasnt sure if this was the losserings or the happy mouth material.so went back to dring eggbutt metal snaffle. he is very average in this bit for some reason, i think as he had been ridden it it his whole life and doesnt pay great amount of attention to it.
so,decided after a post on here it was likley the material of the happy mouth causing sores,so eventually after searching on internet, found this bit. Didnt want to get in a habit of buying millions of different bits so thort if this isnt right4 him will stick with eggbutt.
wow. been in it a few weeks now - so obv still early days but he really mouths it (never done his b4) i can really feel him chewing!! v sensitive but happy and stretches down for bit straight away wen u pick up the reins. it has reallly moved his schooling on a gear and am so chuffed!!altho it looks v similar material to happymouth doesnt cause any sores at all (thank god, felt awful everytime i looked at his mouth). anyway
pointless post but v pleased with this bit and highly reccomend it!!
