well i had a great day at warwick today, the betfred classis chase was the highlight, it was great seeing hello bud at aged 14 (wow for a racehorse!) lead from the start and had a lovely run to finish around 5th, with hey big spender winning :) had a lovely chat with the jockey sam twiston davies about hello bud and his racing post column, such a lovely person! got an autograph to! and one of aidan coleman who was also lovely!

hope these pictures dont come out too big!

Glad you had a good day, I'm rather obsessed with horse racing and I'm majorly jealous you met Sam Twiston-Davies! I've met a lot of people but really want to meet him! I'm convinced that we should be together so just need to meet him to tell him so :)
Is that Tom Messenger in the pink colours? (Can't really see on my phone) if so he is a lovely person and knows how to take a joke, seeing as people talk about his missing teeth all the time. Lol

i think it was tom messenger.... yep just looked at the racecard it was! he was riding a horse called morning moment then, ill have to get an autograph of him too :p (i think all the jockeys say watch out for that crazy stalker girl who asks everyone for autographs)

if you ever see sam twiston davies you have to go up to him he is lovely always happy to have a chat! i was like oh i love your racing post column on mondays (if youve never read it, do its so good!) and he said thanks i really enjoy writing it im glad you like it, i also mentioned hello bud too (fab horse for his age) he seemed very pleased when i said he was one of my favourite horses, he said he is a right sweetie at home. He is very smiley, he was in every race and the only time i saw him not smiling was when he was actually in the race! ive met his brother too, not as chatty as sam but not completely rude either

aidan coleman was lovely too, ive got my "jockey collection" which consists of pictures with sam (at stratford months ago, he didnt remember me which wasnt surprising as it was ages ago) and willy twiston davies, tony mccoy, tom queally and autographs of brendan powell, harry skelton, sam again and aidan coleman

oh god i look like a right stalker now!!!!

Haha I understand completely! I think we were separated at birth!!!
I've got too many autographs, McCoy and Bob Champion are my most proud ones. I actually ripped up Ruby Walsh's autograph infront of his face as he is so rude!
Another you have to meet is Richard Johnson! He is the most lovely person in the world! He was late out of the weighing room and the bell had already rang for jockeys to mount & he still chatted to me for a good five minutes when he signed my book.
Same with Mick Fitzgerald - lovvveeee him! :p

aaahh ive found someone who shares my jockey obsession!!!!! twins!!!
McCoy was lovely to me, i was a bit like OMG as i was standing next to such a legend but he was lovely, whenever i see him theres always loads of people asking him for autographs etc and he see's every single person, ill have to get him to sign his autobiography ive just ordered!

and wow! i wouldnt have guessed ruby walsh would be so rude!! what did he say?good on you for ripping it up, they don't deserve the success if they arn't going to be nice to people, trainers, fans, fellow jockeys whoever!

the most unfriendly one out of my little collection was probably willy twiston davies, i asked him for a picture and he was just like "yeah" and when i said well doen for winning the foxhunters he just said "thanks" i thought he would be a bit more chatty considering how lovely and friendly his brother is, i speak very highly of him!

ill add those two to my list, the jockeys just have to be nice to people if they aren't i hold it against them forever!

Well Ruby - I could have smacked him! He came out later than the other jockeys knowing full well he would have lots of people want to meet him and when a girl about 8 yrs old asked for a picture with him he snapped and started on saying "can't you lot see I'm running late no I'm not signing anything bla bla bla" so I said "no offence walshy but a simple I'm running late or sorry not today would have been fine" so after the race I went and asked again and he snatched the bloody book off me signed it and pretty much chucked it at me! So I ripped it up and chucked it in the air and told him I didn't bloody want it after that! Haha

Also I have no idea why but I used to have a strong dislike towards McCoy and just had a picture with him for a laugh with my dad & after discovering how wonderful he is - I am obsessed! He is my hero! His book is the best book I've ever read! He's always happy to talk to people and sign autographs even when he's had a bad day! When I was at college he was nice enough to show me and my friends around the market rasen weighing room and stuff, he's a top man & I'm majorly jealous of his wife!

well good on you!!!! what a rude man! if you can't sign autographs then at least say something polite and promise to sign after the race how rude!!! he deserved that!! it just shocks me how rude some people can be
very glad you did that, would have loved to have seen his face!

yes i thought mccoy might have not been as friendly as some as he is so successful but he really was lovely! much deserves his success, unlike ruby! and i think him and his wife and kid are sooo cute!!

i remember frankie dettori was at warwick once (now he is my least favorite jockey i have a strong dislike to him, he comes across as one who does not care about the horses as much as some and is a bit money money, fame, fame) and he rejected some people as he "had to weigh in" he just stormed through them all and said "i have to weigh in" he came out again and did have pictures etc but he never had a smile on his face and was looking around like oh i wish these people would leave me alone, so i really dislike him

but yet again, good on you!! :D

The pictures are great. Hello Bud is looking so well. I didn't get racing today because everything was too frozen :(

he did look wonderful, he ran a lovely race too, lead from the start just dropped in the final 2 furlongs to finish 5th but considering his age he did a fab job, you can so tell sam TD loves that horse, from what he told me and how he couldn't stop patting and talking to him before and after the race :)

yeah warwick was completely covered, the whole course, the staff knew they had to as it is the biggest meeting they have and im so glad it wasn't cancelled, it would have meant i would never have seen hello bud nor met sam TD (why does he have to have such a long name!) or aidan coleman and the feature race was pure class!

I was off to Sheriff Hutton for a ride but it was off. Nearly went to Kelso but that was also off. Fingers crossed I will be riding next weekend at Alnwick or Sherriff hutton.

Are you are racecourse photographer?

It was a good race and Hello Bud ran and jumped for fun, good result for Hey Big Spender under top weight, really surprised about Ruby Walsh perhaps you caught him on an off day.

yes he did, had his ears pricked the whole way round :) yeah i thought the weight might have affected hey big spender though it obviously didn't! and i went to haydock park to see kauto in the betfair chase, ruby seemed fine to get pictures after the betfair chase (i didn't see anyone ask him any other time) but he must have been in a good mood after that race, ill perhaps have to go up to him and see

I was shocked at ruby too, expected him to be lovely! I certainly hope it was an off day.

wtdnh131 I'm gutted about the Dettori thing! He was a star when I met him - everyone asking for autographs were really rude to him, not one person said please or thank you so when I asked him politely for him to sign my book and have a picture he was wonderful and said thank you for being so polite! :)

Depressed now as I haven't been racing for ages :( too poor and busy now lol

i call it racing withdrawal and depression syndrome , i get it too!!! in fact i invented it ;)

and i couldn't really hear weather people where being polite or not, which you should be to be honest i always say please and thank you when i get autographs/pictures, perhaps ill have to ask him then! i have read a bit of his book as a relative found it, quite old though i never finished it as got distracted by ginger mccains (RIP) i suppose he must find it quite rude of people and then go on to assume they are all rude if everyone does it, i know i would. they are only human at the end of the day so perhaps ruby was on a off day, we can only wonder! ill add those two to my list then, see what they are like!

Haha I am actually imagining you with a pen and paper jotting down all these names and ticking them off as you meet them! :p
