I think they'll struggle selling him tbh at that price. I wonder what he's been doing all this time?

If he has 100% clean unblemished limbs then someone who fancies a challenge might like him, as he could turn out to be a nice little horse and low mileage! There are so many horses, especially TBs who are worked too hard, too young, so this little chap could have a nice, long working life ahead of him, if the right person comes along?

don't see what is so lovely about him tbh- he has dreadful front legs, the back ones aren't much better and the description makes him sound like a 'can't be broken' nutter!

I drove 2 hours once to look at a "luverly Hannovarian". Well, he had a minor club foot (didn't do well with the farrier) and best of all...he was 5 and had never been weaned. He was still with mom and a very big boy.

Goodness me Lollii, wish i had your contacts, are you close to racing yards?. I could do with contacts like yours having lost my boy and not much money to look for a new horse.

Not to replace him (you know what i mean) but I really miss riding, and all that goes with it. Which part of the country are you in?

Does this happen with a lot of TB's?

My farrier told me about them today, he had the bay gelding, it is now in his field, lucky bug*er :) the grey mare was given away too.

I understand ex racers are be given away for nothing or next to nothing as there is no market for them.

I will find out the name of the racing yard for you if you want but it is in East Sussex.

A lot off racers nr me are given away as well.
I bought a bargain this week. A 6 yr old black cob gelding 14.2hh. He was up for £1800 and hacks well in company, good traffic etc but needs work going out alone, he does go but green. Only been broken 3 months so was happy to work with that. Iv rode him a few times and really liked him and got on with his owner really well. Anyway to cut it short she was losing her land, stables and he had to go this week so said I'm open to any offer. I laughed and said £200 and she said yes done. I went and paid for him there and than and hacked him the 3 miles home alone busy main roads and was good as gold. I still can't believe it now.
