Was lucky enough to get a ride on another of OH's horses yesterday and I had a wonderful morning out. Jumped my first ever dyke, it was a tiddler but polar opposite to what I am used to and I was very glad to be sat on something that knew what it was meant to be doing- I really don't think my coloured chap would be very good at the whole dyke tactics!
Met eagle eye at breakfast afterwards- he is a lovely chap and I hope to see him out again soon.

The dykes are an acquired taste, aren't they? I had our lot out schooling over some yesterday and they did it surprisingly well. You should come out with the Belvoir in Leicstershire if you want big hedges. :)

Alex has taken me out over them a couple of times at home but I can't get used to how they jump to be honest, as I say, it's a good job his lot know what they are doing and look after me, but I think I will need some more practice before they get big beefy dykes!! I would love to come out with belvoir but Alex whips in for Blankney so I guess I would have to bring my own horsey down for a meet at the Belvoir.

Ha, i have a feeling Oshk would have a similar reaction!!
FFF- A dyke is a big ditch, there are lots in arable farming country as they use them of irrigation. Because I'm from big hilly yorkshire country I don't really have to deal with anything like that, the odd ditch but not big man made dykes- luckily I haven't had to jump one yet, so time to practice!
