Haven't seen him for a while, because he hasn't been doing a deal he is looking HOT (he can get quite skinny if when he's hunting a lot) and he is totally full of it!!

He is sooo much fun but at the same time a complete gent!

My mum normally feels a bit over horsed by him doing anything other than hacking, but she went on a hunt ride with him yesterday and was amazed by how well mannered he was and said she is loads more confident riding him!

I've ridden him today and he is just so fab!! I wish I could ride him more!

Anyone else having a good horsey day??

Oooh yes - I've had a really good horsey day today thank you!
Jerry can be a bit nappy for the first mile when ridden on his own. This was made worse today by the fact that the road I have to ride on has LOADS of roadworks at the moment so lots of sppoky cones, pipes, dug up ditches etc etc. I really expected him to use whatever he could as an excuse to stop and try to turn round for home but he didn't spook at any of it!!
And to top it all, 4 riders came towards us, trotting quite fast towards Jerry's home and I know that given the choice, he would like to follow them back towards home, but did he? NO! He kept going forward past all the spooky roadworks. What a superstar!!
I am lovin' my oss today too!!

Thanks Starbucks - the thing is, we must remember the days that are good so when we have the occasional 'off' day, our confidence isn't shattered!
Hope and your mum continue to have great fun with your luvverly horsey!

Aww thanks!

It's a bit silly really because she takes her horse, Caffrey, hunting twice a week and when he is feeling a bit tired she doesn't go, but Badger is stuck in the stable raring to go! He's quite big and powerful which seems to put her off, but I think she'd be fine with him!

Had a GREAT horsey day but only because I measure success in tiny, tiny amounts! Took my new(ish) little rescued mare (dreadful ragwort poisoning but doing great) for a walk in hand for the first time ever!

Two trusted buddies came too so she had a little "herd" and we just ambled down the lane in the November sunshine. Her eyes went a bit on stalks as she left her familiar fields but then she settled, grazed in the hedge a bit, stopped and walked on when asked, turned for home and walked sensibly all the way even when 2 buddies upped the pace a bit and she stayed back. Car behind, she didn't care. Reckon I could have walked her down the M4, no probs! Very, very proud of her ... and all this just in a head collar coz she didn't fancy the bit at all ... dunno if she's ever had a bit in her mouth before! My YO reckons that this time next year I'll be doing the Yard cream cake run to Tescos, with her pulling a trap! Not such a good thing was that the 2 trusted buddies went on a proper hack after our little walk and met A KILLER VAMPIRE GOAT! 2 totally panicked horses had to turn round and come back. Anyone got any good ideas about goats???

Yes I had a lovely horsey day today aswell. I took Jet up the forest for the first time since the snow arrived a few days ago - it was magical! Just like walking into Narnia and I always love that first ride up there with the beautiful white snow all around.

Funny you know, when I came back I said to my husband just how nice a little horse my Jet is and I really do like him.
