Got mistaken for the police twice today whilst me and horsey were kitted out.

Uber respect from the dog walkers for change. I shall definatly be wearing it more often. 'yes, you keep your usualy out of control dog on a lead sir' :D
 
I was thinking about getting some Polite gear, but wondered - has anyone ever encountered any negative response when people read it as 'Police' at a distance, then realise they've been tricked when they get closer?
 
Ive had mine a while now - can only say how fab it has been - has really helped me build up my hacking confidence. No negative experiences at all.

Yesterday i hacked with a lady ive nto been out with before. She was on her horse, all hi vizzed.

She was amazed at how different the traffic was - we had to go on our busy ring road for a few yards and she was amazed at how slow the traffic went - i was wearing the tabard and hatband with black jods, boots and yellow hi viz jacket. My clipped out cob was wearing his polite exercise sheet.

It really does make a difference with everyone - drivers, cyclists, dog walkers - and if they do notice after so what - theyve already slowed down or acted in a safer more considerate manner - job done!:D:D:D
 
I might have to invest in some, even though my 14.2hh piebald cob couldn't resemble a police horse less if she tried! Lol. x
 
I love mine - it does seem to slow them down (not that I do much roadwork, but the bikes seem to respect it too). Not found any negative responses, although one cyclist said he'd assumed my horse would be bomb proof as it's a police horse, after he snuck up behind us.
 
Twice now I've had cars stop behind me, reverse, turn round and drive off the other way!!!!!!!!!! Do we think they've been naughty ;-)
 
I have seen loads of people wearing them & they seem to get more popular. I must admit a couple of horses rode through our yard few months ago & I thought it was the police as it was the first time I saw them :o. I must say I have been very tempted to purchase & become a fake cop :p
