What do you recommend? I'm currently using Dengie Hifi Molasses Free and Spillers Daily Balancer for mine which work well but my daughters pony (Section B) is still quite fat and a bit full of it so I want to cut her calories out but still give her what she needs so thinking of going back onto Spillers Lite and lean Balancer but undecided on a few different chaffs!

The Spillers light only has 10% less calories than the normal one, it has more protein, less oil and less sugar and starch which might help reduce any fizziness? I think the bulk of the weightloss effort should be focused on forage rather than the handful of balancer, really.

I think for all the volume of chaff you need, a handful really, the energy content doesn't matter very much either tbh but I use the Honeychop lite and healthy, similar to the Dengie but it's grass based rather than alfalfa. It gets eaten and it smells nice. I swapped to speedi-beet and a powder balancer for fat pony so she can have a decent bucket that's really half water as it bulks up so much.

I don’t think you’ll be making much impact tweaking from that.
Topchop zero is straw chaff but the weight is coming from your forage.

I don't think the hard feed is the ponies issue! what is the grazing a hay quality like? can you muzzle? or offer a straw net along side any hay nets?
The grass came through but now stopped growing - she has hay twice a day but keeps either jumping our going under fencing to get to other peoples paddocks or if she seesm someone feed their horse next door she'll either jump striaght over of plough on through the electric fence to get there! So I have to keep her in part of the day and she's exercised most days. I give her plenty of hay (soaked) so she shouldn't really be hungry! She's not the only ones - a few have started escaping now grass has stopped growing

I’ve just started mine on Dengie Meadow Lite with herbs which is only 5mJ per kg and ultra low starch and sugar. So far so good; she’s enjoying it.

I use simple systems timothy chop

If only feeding a token feed swapping chaff unlikely to have much effect but swapping to the lighter balancer may have a small effect.

Mine likes the honeychop light & healthy & have also used agrobs leight genus’s in the past.
