My horse has been making a dodgy noise for a while (weird kind of breath sounds when walked in hand and ridden) and he was scoped yesterday. His trachea was found to be inflamed as were his adenoids and the vet is putting it down to a low grade virus causing an upper airway problem. His bloods have come back totally normal showing absolutely no allergy, no bacteria or infection whatsoever. The vet is saying that he just needs rest for a few weeks to let the inflammation settle then start walking again in 4 weeks if breathing sounds better. She's also recommended Winergy Ventilate.

Just wondered whether anyone else had any experience of something like this and how it ended up, how long it took etc to get back to normal.

My old girl had a virus that was a bit more severe (off food, dropped weight, bloods not so good). It probably took a month before she was anything approaching her old self.

I always give a bottle of Global Herbs Restore to any of mine that have been off colour. It really gives them the boost they need to recover from illness.

Hope your boy is feeling better very soon.
