Feral pony was brought in today incase we had a huge thunderstorm (we didn't). When I went to turn them out I found blood around her eye. After cleaning it up I can see that she just caught the bottom corner of her eye lid, the eye itself isn't affected but there is a little raw cut.

I was going to bathe it in luke-warm very dilute salt water - 1/2 tea spoon to 1 pint water. Is this what everyone else would do? I can't put ointment on as it is too close to the eye itself or any other substance. It is a very small wound, but I feel it needs some treatment and not just left to heal itself.

The vet said bathe with a dilute salt solution - 1/4 teaspoon in a pint of water just in case anyone was interested.
She also gave me some eye ointment in case it is needed but all seems fine at the moment. I emphasise that it was a very small wound.
Obviously if larger I would have called the vet.
