I would like a hay bar from my old mare's stable, as she is better eating from the floor but I depise the waste it creates.
I have a wire corner hay manger in the stable, much like this...
Would it be safe to move this further down the wall, so that my mare can eat out of the top of it (hay bar style) rather than it being above her head and her having to reach up for it??
She is unshod, so no chance of shoes catching.
Oh and the title should say "Lowering"! I think it was all the talk of mangers got me in the Christmas mood with "the cattle are lowing..."
