hi,
Thanks for asking,
the update i posted yesterday was as follows:
well i turned him out slightly later than the vet suggested, so he had been in his box slightly longer and when he came out, he can walk straighter yes, but still wasnt 100% in the field, but then, when he saw the other horses move into the next field - he trotted - then cantered!! admittedly a bit sideways but the vet says he isnt distressed, isnt in pain, and not suffering?
i am emotionally drained and exhuasted, i think he is def telling me he wants to be here a little longer, i have told him though, i cant see him suffer, lets see how long he wants to be here....
this morning, he seems slightly better than last night, my other 27 year old gelding seems to have 'stolen' Williams mares, which is a little sad
the other gelding is normally as quiet as anything so i am sure he would happily back down, but i dont think there has been anything untowards happening when hes claimed them. They have all been together for years.
My head is still everywhere re William, i thought i was loosing him before easter, i had made the decision, and the vets u-turn has completly shocked me! i did tell him how one of the other vets from the practice had said to PTS, and the other had said i will know when the time is right.... the vet yesterday (who has delt with my horses the most) i trust the most i would say out of them so i have to go with it.
I very much imagine though that i will have him PTS in the near future, i imagine he will have to sedated first as i can see him fighting it all the way as thats his mentality, if only they could have body transplants!
