I got to work on a scooter, and push it over a footbridge to get over the river, saves me going through town...
At the weekend, 18 horses were put to graze on the riverbank, which has the river one side, and the drain (it's like another river) the otherside. I WAS told they were travellers horses, though that's not confirmed to me yet...
Yesterday morning, I couldn't get through, fire and rescue were there....I guessed why...
By all accounts a dog walker saw one horse in the river, and one in the drain. There seems to be some confusion as the whether that actually had a water supply, so of course, the horses would try to drink from the river and drain, the banks are soft, and splash.
Luckily, the horses were rescued, and they were removed yesterday, by the order of someone with a bit of clout apparently. Not sure if the owners collected them, or a local rescue home. A friend who has a field next to the river, allowed the fire service to herd the horses into one of her paddocks to prevent it happening again....
