Not been on a horse for over a year and decides to get on one she doesn't know without a hat and sits side saddle on a jumping saddle.... does this sound like pure idiocracy to anyone else?
Well, that was a silly thing to do. Sounds like it might have been too sensitive for her, as the article suggests she pulled the reins a bit sharp when the horse walked on and it reacted to that.
Sounds like she was there for a modeling job, or did I read that wrong? If right someone told her to pop on the horse and although clearly unwise of her to do so, I can see why you would do as you are told when you are being paid for your time. I think the fault lies with whoever was directing the whole thing and did not properly manage it (e.g. the horse should have been more suitable there are properly trained stunt horses, and the handler should have had a lead rope to control it, etc.).
Is it bad that I feel worse for the horse? I know that even my sensible plod will tell u whats what if u snatch the reins with him. She should have just said no - I mean, surely she has some common sense given who her brother is?!
She was there on a modelling job, someone told her to get on the horse (an unknown horse to her, wearing a dress and sitting side-saddle on a jumping saddle) - but her relation is a top showjumper - so that would protect her wouldn't it...?!
Yes, we always get up on eventers barefoot in short skirts, sit sideways and then hold on by the reins here in Ireland...
How thick of the people who let it happen. Why use a model for this sort of promotion anyway - the clue is in the name guys - Dublin HORSE Show. Plenty of ladies and horses around who look stunning in traditional showing gear. I wouldn't let anyone within yards of my horse in those clothes -he'd mash their little painted toes to a pulp!

Was wondering if someone would post this. I saw this on the front of the Indo, lying on the counter of a cafe at lunchtime and I just said out loud 'dozy cow'.
Thank God she is OK and the horse is OK, but seriously, if a snapper asks you to get on an eventer, (strapped up to the gills, by the way, no wonder he went straight up if she snatched the reins) with no hat or shoes on, in a summer frock, the answer is not 'OK then!'.
Great press for the event, nice one, guys.
I quite often sit side saddle on my jumping saddle wearing no hat or shoes & a flowery frock dont you?? Glad they are both ok, poor horse for getting a sock in the gob, couldn't they have given her a neckstrap to hold??
Stupid girl, job or no job if she used to ride horses she should have known better, she was asked to sit on a fit showjumper???Duhhhh!!
So clearly not horses fault it went up and over, looking at pics she pulled it so hard in the mouth it went up to get away and then she continued to hang on and pulled it over!
I am pleased the horse is none the worse
callous i know, hopefully it may of knocked some sense into her for when she does other jobs
Stupid girl, how did she expect the horse not to fall on her when she was pulling it over with the reins! Why did she even have hold of the reins if it was being led? Surely she wasn't trying to ride it properly!!! Poor horse, hope it's OK.
