So the other day I was chatting about my horse to a dog trainer, I showed her how he'll lie down, sit, shake a paw, bow, and pick stuff up when I ask him, various other cute stuff, I'm quite proud of my big doofus.

She said how lucky I was to have a nice horse that would do all this stuff for me, so that's bent me out of shape a bit, it's like me saying she's lucky to have a dog that will do an obedience class, it's not luck, it's hours, weeks, months and years of training, bruises, broken bones, cold, wet and muddy evenings and insanely early mornings, not to mention the amounts of cash I don't even want to think about, luck has very little to do with it

Bit of a pointless rant about a throwaway comment that got my back up, feeling better now! :)

Wow!!!! That is amazing!!! I'm sure the comment wasn't meant to cause offence. You're definitely in the right place to get appreciation for all your hard work!! How did you train your horse to do all that??

Wasn't really offended, just that she'd probably feel the same if I said she was lucky that she's won all those dog training rosettes and bred champion dogs etc

I've been training him to do stunts and tricks for a while, he's not always sound enough to ride and he's only 8, gives him something to think about and me something to do with him, he loves it, really enjoys the attention and it makes him very willing to please, it's good fun too
