Sorry to be picky but for the Olympics its GB team not just England! However, do agree at this rate there will be few left - such a pity for them must be so disappointed!
Gosh there'll be no one left at this rate! Bet the anyone left with an olympic horse is now even more paranoid and wrapping it in cotton wool!
Having had one x-country lesson recently for the first time in 10 years where I jumped all of 2ft on a lovely 21 year old riding school horse I would like to reassure the selectors that I have no holiday plans for August
oh no another one out! What i actually said the other day about having no 1st reserves left does not seem so far away. If sharon, tina or daisy's horses are injured we are a bit screwed! fingers crossed they make it!!!!!!

They shouldn't have made the decision so soon I am sure Shaabrak would have been fit. You never know he may get back in if another drops out!

My thoughts too. Its still eight weeks to the Olympics...
I think they have to run at Barbury to be considered, don't they? It's the final trial, i thought. So gutted for her, but if she can't get him to Barbury, i guess that's it.
what a total nightmare for her and Zara, hugest sympathies to both.
Well if its the case that they HAVE to run at Barbury, thats a big U turn on the selectors previous approach to allow loads of freedom on where they run, especially with someone who has already proved themselves this year.
i'm sure someone on here said that Salperton and Barbury were events they were expected/required to do. The latter especially for WFP and Mary King i guess, as they (and the selectors) still have to choose between horses, and might base their choice on how they go at Barbury.

Great minds Sarah-Jane!!! I was thinking that myself last night when I saw the news, especially as he's now apparently sound.
the horses have to be in quarantine in three weeks as it happens that is why they had to decide now. they are flying to hong kong between the 1st and 4th of august and must have done a weeks isolation by then in an approved stables. i doubt that Shabraak will be running anyhere this weekend unless it comes up soft or else he would still be in. As is usually the case we are not being told the whole story but its tough luck for lucy what ever way you look at it.
I am actually gutted for her, after reading her column in Horse magazine, you can see she was trying her absoloute hardest to wrap Shaabrak up in cotton wool, and she was so happy to be on the team
