Lump appeared??????

Hi

Just wondered if anyone had any experiance of a lump/lumps appearing on the front/face of the hock?? I checked the other leg and there isn't one there? It feels quite hard, theres no swelling or heat - could it be an artheritic type lump?? my boy is 18 now so could this be a possiblilty? I hope my discription rings some bells - any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Could be one of many things, what height is it on the hock sometimes bog spavins feel harder than you'd expect, they commonly appear on the lower front of hock, is there any lamenes/stiffness, heat or discomfort?

Yes the lump has appeared on the lower front of the hock! There doesn't appear to be any swelling or heat thats why I popped this on the forum as it seemed odd not to have heat etc....To be honest I don't know alot about bog spavins? My lad is quite a heavy cob and I've had problems with all his legs with one thing or another he's been stiff on his back end for about 2-3 years so difficult to see, had a tendon injury so put the stiffiness down to that - can you advise what I should do if it is?? should I have the vet out??
