Lump coming back

My horse was ill about a month ago now, when an enormous lump suddenly appeared between his jawbones (I have a thread from then which I'll post a link to: http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/foru...ight-!&highlight=huge+lump+appeared+overnight ).

Luckily we got some amazing veterinary care and even though his entire jaw swelled up, it went right down after only a week of antibiotics and hot poultices. The vet said that it was an abscess (possibly caused by a foreign body) which got a nasty infection in it, and then his lymph node in that area swelled up too. So yeah, not good...

But basically, I was at the yard this evening after school to ride and feed him, and when I was grooming him I felt a little lump in the exact same place the last one was in and panicked. He still has a little patch where there's no hair from where the last abscess ruptured and scabbed over, and it seems like something's swelling up again.

Now, the vet did tell me that he may have a small lump left over where the abscess used to be, but I don't think this feels normal. Horse is still his usual happy, cheeky, obsessed-with-food self, but I'm unsure whether I should leave it a week and see if it gets worse, or call the vet now - as the last time I left it overnight the blasted thing quadrupled in size and got infected :/

Any advice would be great! Also, just a note; the reason I'm not getting a vet in straight away is because I don't have a job and my parents pay my horse's bills, and it takes something really bad for me to persuade them to get someone out. I just want to be sure that it'll be worth their money, as we don't have much of it. Thank you x
