My horse seems to have a lump under his neck, I'm not sure if i'm just being paranoid, but my pony doesn't seem to have a lump in the same place.

The best I can describe it is like an adam's apple. Is there a gland on the underside of their neck that could be swollen????

Any ideas

Cant remember exactly, but a friends horse had this. Im sure it was just a gland and was nothing to worry about. One thing i def remember the horse wasn't ever ill.

Hope that helps!!

Is it only on one side?? My lad has one on the right hand side of his, a kind of big marble size. If it is there all the time then it might be the same thing as he has, for the life of me I cant remember what it is called, but vet said it was nothing to worry about.
However there are glands there and if this has just popped up perhaps it would be best to ask your vet to take a look, if nothing else it will put your mind at rest.

My mare has these at both sides, vet has had a look and said nothing to worry about, it is best to get the vet out to have a look even if it is only to put your mind at rest.
In this picture you can clearly see one of them.
