Last night i got my mare in from the field and she was very silly about me picking out one of her hooves,i couldnt see anything wrong and thought she was just being naughty but this morning i had the farrier and she was very silly again and we noticed that her fetlock was slightly swollen.
Her field is very deep with mud in the gateway as the road water drains into it and we put it down to her pulling it going through the mud.
I cold hosed it bandaged it and put her out (would have left her in but she really wanted to go out which is unusual for her)
This afternoon i got her in unbandaged her and cold hosed again and realised that she now has a slight lump on her fetlock and was still swollen with quite a bit of heat. I have left her unbandaged in her stable as she dosnt seem to like me touching it so a bandage may aggetate it.
She is not lame at all and is puting weight on it. It is like shes banged it but would it of taken soo long to come out?
Any ideas on what it could be? And am dealing with it as i should be?
If it gets any worse i will call the vet!
Any advice greatly appreciated.
