My mare has developed a hard lump on the inside of her near fore fetlock towards the back. If you stand behind her and look at it it is really noticeable - almost like a bunion! It is a hard lump that has developed over the last two weeks. It is not hot or sore, and she is not lame on it. Anyone got any ideas? Farrier and physio couldn't shed any light on it, and I haven't got the vet out (yet) because she isn't actually lame. Also my vets are fairly obsessive about using every scanner known to mankind given half the chance. She is always ridden in boots, and I would have thought if she had struck into herself in the field hard enough to cause a lump like that she would have broken the skin! Anyone got any bright ideas please!

A young horse of ours developed hard lumps on inside of the fetlock when he was four(now six). We had him scanned and the vet said not to worry about them - they were calcification but did not hinder tendon, ligaments or the fetlock joint so forget about them - a little like splints. Yours might have the same.
