My horse came in last night with a hard lump, about the size of a 10p and sticks out as much as a finger tip (sorry trying to imagine things the same size!) on the outside of his fetlock. Skin isn't broken, he's not particulary lame but it worries me as it is in the same place as he damaged his tendon back in October (but that was fleshy swelling not hard) and he wasn't noticably lame with that either
Any ideas what it could be?

Is he lame? If so I would probably call the vet to find out what it is and have some peace of mind.

If he isn't, then I would ignore it for now, as I am not overly fond of vets bills! He has probably knocked himself somehow. You could try cold hosing it and see if it goes down. Other than that I can't help much unless you could upload a photo?

I cold hosed it yesterday, can't upload a picture until later, as I am at work atm!
He's not noticably lame, you can only see it if you look for it on a tight turn, which is the same as he was when he did his tendon :-(
Vet was only out on monday and he was fine then! grrr

Ok its taken me a while but here are the pics

A horse on the yard I work at has this and he had the top team GB (flemish guy) out to him who said it was a strain on his ligament, all the UK vets had no idea so said just leave it - only had GB vet as horse literally worth £100K's + x
