lump on puppy's eye HELP

My five month old doberman puppy has a deep pink lump just under his eye, it doesn't seem to be getting any bigger, but doesn't look very nice, the vet gave me some cream to stop him fromm scratching it, has anyone else had or heard of this and will it go on it's own?
