Lump on sheath

Pony came back from Prof breaking yard Sunday. Was a bit of palaver getting him to load (to many people who all know how I should handle my pony). Lots of rearing spinning etc.
Got him home turned him out with his mates and there was a bit of a argument sorting pecking order then all settled to graze.
Monday evening I noticed this lump on his sheath. It's not hot, I can't see a puncture wound. I can prod it and move it around and he isn't bothered. It's about the size of a goose egg and soft but doesn't feel like it's just fluid filled.

I'm keeping an eye to see if it goes down changes etc over the next 24 hours or so. This morning it seemed a different shape but didn't have my phone with me to take photos.

My first thoughts are he's pulled something pratting about loading or it's a kick in the field. Anyone got any ideas.

Can you get your fingers behind it or ist fixed to the abdominal wall?

I don't know what it is but I would wonder if he's given himself a small hernia, then again it could just be swelling from a kick.
Sorry, not much use.

I don't think its fixed to anything. I can move it around a fair bit. There is no heat in it. And he's not bothered by me touching it. Now, this is a pony who has a melt down if you brush him to vigorously, so touching anything that is even slightly tender just wouldn't happen.

I'll get some more photos this evening to compare.

Its not causing him any discomfort that I can tell.

What could you feel in it if it wasn't just fluid?

ETA.. Are you sure it's not just a fly bite or sting?

Its fleshy, no hard lumps or anything, just feels like it has more substance to it than fluid.

I honestly can't see or feel any kind of puncture wound for it to be a sting or bite. I'll check again this evening.

Still can't see any puncture wound, but yesterday evening just looked like a swollen sheath and this morning has gone down again, so I'm going to put it down to a kick and hope that is the last of it. He can have a wee and put everything away again so I think he is ok.
