When i went to do my mare today to get her ready for a show she had a huge lump that was solid circle shapped mass around the size of a hand on her side. It was warm earlier but not that much. Spoke to vet on call and he said sounded like fly bite reaction - she has a boett on plus had lycra outfit to keep clean and l/w rugs on and never had a fly bite under boett before. No heat in it now, mare already on danilon and has had priton tablets and liquid which hasnt done anything. How long would you say a fly bite should go down by? Not sure if connected but she had a fall jumping the day before with loaner so dont know if lump may be to do with that?
