Hi There i wundered if someone could help please!

I have just recently noticed my horses spine has a small bumpy area on it.. it just feels like a part of the spine is more raised than the rest. I have applied abit of pressure to it, which results in him dipping his back... He doesn't show any pain at all, he is his normal self. He is no different to ride and doesn't show any discomfort when i put his saddle on.

Thankyou does anyone have any ideas what it could be.

him dipping his back is a sign of tenderness/pain. The lumps are most likely caused from the muscles over the spine/back tightening.
You should definately get a chiropractor out to him.

There is an obvious problem there & it needs to be investigated. Call your vet & get them to examine your horse. Just because the horse shows no pain when ridden doesn't detract from the fact that there is pain there when you apply pressure to it. To ignore this would be very fool hardy. Call you vet.

Dipping his back is your horses way of showing pain. Please get a vet out asap. Please keep us informed - and welcome to HHO

Vet first as chiro's/physio/osteos shouldn't really treat your horse without the vet's approval.

Welcome to HHO. Hope you get to the bottom of the your horse's lump.
