I posted a month or so ago about a little pinhead lump on my horses saddle area. It is located aroundabout underneath the stirrup flap, high up.
Well it has got bigger :( and changed shape, it has elongated. There is no pain, redness or hair loss. I have checked saddle, saddle cloth, rugs etc and no obvious problems.
What do people think? Should I call saddle fitter or vet? :( he's grey and I'm worried about melanomas...

It is unlikely to be melanoma in that location. It is very likely to be a collagen granuloma. These often respond to an injection with steroids. Call your vet.

Agree Beacon used to get them every year and the injections do work. They take a few weeks or more but slowly it goes away. It got to the point it was as routine as vaccinations :p

My boy has had something like this. Hard lump under saddle area. Used E45 HC cream, daily for a week or so and it went. He has had a couple and they all go with the cream.x

Friends horse has the same he is steel grey.Vet thinks blocked sweat duct and is treating with fuciderm.Make sure he has spotlessly clean saddle cloth every day.Is he clipped ? hers is and once pores are open dirt can get in.
