Hiya, was wondering if anyone has experienced lumps along their horses spine after being ridden. My TB mare has been getting them for months now and she has had her back checked (by both a vet and specialist), and her saddle checked (new saddle bought to help the problem). She is sponged down if she ever gets sweaty and I ride in a stephens sheepskin gel eze pad which helps a bit but she still gets them!! Very infuriating! They do not seem to cause her pain and she goes well but just wondered if anyone had any ideas what is causing them and ideas for stopping them coming up?? Much appreciated.

have had similar problems years ago and have found since loosening the girth a bit qbout 10 minutes before dismounting and then again when dismounted , leaving the saddle put for a few minutes has helped no end.

Have you tried Gold Label skin hardening gel?

Use it twice a day for 2 weeks all over the saddle area and it hardens up sensitive skin, which it sounds like your girley has.

It's only about £3 or 4 a tub, so worth a try!
