lumps and bumps

Hi can any one help? I just got home from work and my little pony has huge lumps on his flank and thigh area. Some of them have broken skin and are hard to touch. They dont seem to be bothering him to much.
Should I bathe them or leave them alone?
He is regularly covered in fly spay and midge oil.

Sounds like horse fly bites to me but maybe wrong

sounds like fly bites just keep an eye on him but in the mean time bath him in tea tree and then apply aloe vera cream to the areas!
