my 5 year old mare has had a lump on each side of her front leg just a above her fetlock, shes had them for around 2 weeks now, when she got them it was about a week after the show so i think that it could of been the show jumping on hardish ground that has hurt it but she only goes lame some times, there is no heat or anything coming from it.its like fluid and it does not hurt her if you put pressure on it also it has not got bigger or smaller from it having cold water on it so i dont no what to do. what would you do please help???

It sounds like they could be windgalls, although these wouldn't ordinaraly cause lameness - they're a concussion injury usually caused by working or jumping on hard ground, which could fit with you. They're squishy fluid lumps just above the fetlock.. If she's lame (even intermittantly) it's definately worth getting the vet to have a look.

Windgalls don't tend to affect the front legs though - that's why I would just have the vet check them over as the front legs are a bit more concerning than hinds. Hopefully windgalls is all it is - they're no big deal.

Could also be suspensory ligament damage (tends to be in the same location as windgalls and does cause lameness). Lumps near joints/ligs/tendons that are unusal need to be looked at by a vet.
