About two years ago my horse developed a pea sized hard lump, that had a small amount of hair missing in the middle just above his right eyelid, i had the vet out to look at it and he said he couldn't be 100% sure what it was but there is a good chance it could be a sarcoid (my horse had a sarcoid on his sheath once before, which fell off after a course of blood root ointment and never came back) and to leave it alone, as it it by his eye you dont want to risk irritating it unless its absolutely necessary, it didn't hurt him or affect him in any way.
Then about a year ago he developed a similar lump in a similar place on his other eye, remembering what the vet said to me last time i decided to see how it went, it grew a little, but no bigger than the other one.
Last month i put him on Sarc-Ex just to see if it would help (as its natural i figured it couldn't hurt to try)
Then yesterday the lump on his left eye burst and puss came out, like if you squeezed a spot, there is no liesons or cuts, just the small hole where the puss came out that you cant even see, today i checked it over and more puss came out, no blood or any other fluid, just white puss, not smelly, the same as yesterday. It seems a bit smaller and isnt hard any more. The lump on his right eye is still hard and the same as it has always been.
Is this one for the vet? does anyone have any experience or ideas of what to do? i have no idea what it could be as i have never seen a sarcoid behave like this? Any help would really be appreciated! Thanks!
