My tb started with two lumps on either side of his upper neck about 10 days ago, they are not hot and don't seem to bother him in anyway but they arn't going down, infact I came back from holiday today and one seems to have got larger. Nothing has changed, never seen anything like it so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

Heres some pictures of his neck about a week ago before I went away (now slightly larger), I have circled the bumps, the left one is much bigger than the right.

one of my horses had something similar..not quite as big and pronounced as yours. Vet looked and was unconcerned, said to wait and see what happened, they went down slowly. They felt fairly solid, almost like muscle as opposed to fluidy swellings.

My horse has something similar except on the underside of her neck. You can't see it if she holds her head up, but if she lowers her neck it is prominent and hangs down. It feels like solid but isn't bothering her at all. I have the vet coming out to investigate.

Thanks everyone. :)

Bit of an update!! I had the vet.. she thinks he has probably got his head/neck through the hedge, got slightly stuck and pulled back quickly and has possibly bruised it.

But whatever its from she said nothing to worry about! :) Phew!
