A friend at the yard is getting concerned bout her fell pony, she noticed a month ago that he had what looks like lumps/ripples forming on the inside of both of his hocks.
The fell is worked 4-days a week and had not been showing any signs of pain or lameness. She took him to the vets for a thorough check over & the vet admitted that he had never seen anything like it before, looks like tight excess skin, a biopsy was taken during the visit & my friend is still waiting for the results. The vet also recommended that the fell is left to rest for 4-days.
However, she has today noticed that the lumps/ripples have got bigger & have grown up the length of his leg, on touching the area, it appears to be very sensitive. The vet is due to visit the yard on Friday.
Does anyone have any idea what this is?
