Lumps ???

Hi There
My BAY gelding has a single lump under his tail, just at the entrance of his anus. It is a bit scabby, but once you clean his dock the lump is pink and bulbous. It looks like a boil. Got Vet coming 2morrow.
My fear is its a melanoma but didn't think bay horses got them there. Can't find anything on net about bay horses getting them. Its so close to his anus another thought was can Horses get haemorroids?????

Is your horse very old?

I think any colour can get it, just usually greys.

Don't worry too much, I had sarcoid on a bay, near his bottom and he had a lamb's tail band placed on it and after a couple of weeks it fell off, no problems.

Apparently if they live near cows, they can get it through the flies coming across.
