My horse has lumps in the saddle area, I'm guessing because she's got a little wider and her saddle's beginning to rub. They appeared overnight and are on just about the same place on either side. They are hard and can't be moved and also pretty small, you can only really feel them. I actually only noticed them as my horse started being reluctant to canter on the left rein.

Obviously I'm not riding at the moment, but as I'm pretty sure I won't be able to get the vet or anyone else to see her this side of the new year, I'm wondering if anyone on here can tell me if you think they'll go away by themself or may need treatment.

have you wormed recently? is your horse clipped? or woolly under the saddle? might be blocked pores due to sweating? try hot packing them? or clip off area and hibi scrub?

Hasn't been wormed that recently, the part they are on is unclipped, but not very thick hair, my horse has a light coat anyway but does sweat quite alot.
Can anyone explain what hot packing is? I've googled it and all it comes up with is ways to preserve vegetables, which I'm sure my horse would love but maybe isn't right

My thin skinned/coated tb got these once, I was told they were where her hair had rubbed and damaged the folicles, I changed to a sheepskin numnah and they went away and haven't come back(2 years later). It might be worth a scub with hibiscrub but I didn't bother just changed to sheepskin.
