Went on a hack last sunday and there was some long grass that went up to her belly.

On monday she came up in some huge lumps on her belly more round her belly button region on both sides and some smaller ones all over her body including top of her bum but not her back.

I left them for a day and they hadn't gone down and since then have being hosing her belly ones once a day.

They gone down a tiny bit but not much. I have been lunging her (well twice) because they were in her girth area too and cant really afford her to have some time off as as trying to loose weight.

So do you think it could of been an allergic reaction to something that caused them to be all over he body or something else? if they not gone down by end of week I will phone the vet.

Hi rosies mum - don't worry at all i had vet out for exactly same thing paid to have a steroid jab as he said was definately an allergic reaction to something £175 later and three days after the jab wore off - they came back and then a week later went of their own accord!! really angry when i found out that they actually would have gone down on their own and vet even said that (afterwards) - have you changed diet or food or anything either because mine were exactly where yours has hers along the belly part way up the neck odd few on the back and mine had some on his face ? Vet told me it was all along the areas where food would have passed or the main blood vessels - i'd keep working her unless she seems in pain - i spoke to a vet afterwards and he said if hes eating, drinking and not struggling to breath it will usually pass on its own anything of the above you need a vet but other than that i think you'll both be fine to carry on
 
This reminds me of the sort of rash my old pony used to get. It didnt seem to cause her any discomfort but it was quite unsightly. It allways tended to happen when spring grass was coming through and we did put it down to change of diet. She also suffered from sweetitch and had quite sensitive skin. The rash never caused any problems for her and allways went away quite quickly.

Only change in diet was I moved her fields from a bare to a very slight covering with some really long stuff she wont eat. But have done this a fair few times in the past weeks. Yeah she has got a couple on her cheek, neck, girth belly and flanks. None on legs...

Thank you I will hope that it just passes with time.

you think they will be ok to girth then as they are quite small in that area and her girth is well padded? Might just wait till end of week now though x
