My new haffie girly is lumpy and bumpy on her shoulder at bedtime check. I've had her 4 weeks on Sunday and she has been ok so far but today is the day I messed with the system :o and started her new supplements , garlic, magnesium, EH Flex / rosehips/ and hoof supplement. She has oat straw chaff , a snatch of happy hoof, baileys lo cal & soaked hay.

Assume the supplements may have tipped a balance here or should I check on lo cal balancer amounts (e.g. my groom did feed tonight and may have fed a bit more). I did see a mosquito last night so she may have been bitten also..... or be hot in her rug she is clipped but it's milder today

OMG any ideas before I turn into fretting mum , she by the way is happy and still munching away at the hay net.

She's probably too warm, don't worry.

Although sounds a bit like overkill on the supplement front.

Your hoof supplement's main ingredient is most likely magnesium, and too much magnesium can cause horse to have sloppy poos (hence why spring grass poos are sloppy because the chemical that makes grass appear green is Chlorophyll which the main part of it is Magnesium) and in extreme cases worse problems.

Joint supplement & rosehips do similar things too.

Also if you are feeding a balancer you shouldn't need to be topping up vitamins at all, as that's what it is - something that is lo calorie but full of nutrients so you don't have to feed lots of food for a balanced diet/healthy horse.

I'd give Baileys a call :)
