Lumpy dog- possible causes

I noticed this morning that our pup (9 months) had a sore eye, but on closer inspection she has lots of swellings around her head and jaw. These got more in number over the next hour or so and she now has a few on her back and undercarriage. I've bathed her because she seemed itchy but she's bright, eating etc. Our other dog had a similar thing a few years ago when the vet said it was an allergy to hedgehogs but pup doesn't go out alone or off the lead so not that.
I have changed washing powder and washed her bed and also her food has been changed. Does anyone have any ideas what could have caused this? She'll be going to vet in the morning.

It could be an insect bite or sting, there are a lot of bees round here at the moment. My dog had a similar reaction last summer, she was fine when I got up and I let her out into the garden for a wee and she came in 5 minutes later with her eye nearly closed and covered in lumps. I rushed her to the vets and they just gave her a couple of Piriton tablets which worked quite quickly although the lumps took a day to go.
