lumpy legs

horse has lumpy bits on the back of his two back legs. Thought it was rain scald/mud fever type thing at first (as he had some on his hooves), but treated in the same way, and its still there. It also looks a bit like it. We now possible think it might be some kind of dermatitus due to moulting (his coat went very scurfy in spring).

Is there anything I can do to get rid of the lumps? It doesnt appear to hurt him tho

my cob mare has lumpy legs too but she has got a lot of feather hers are due to having leg mites were she has always itched them on anything that she can find ive got it under control now but she must of had it for years before I got her and went untreated plus she can get mud fever if im not careful in the winter. ask your vet you can get a injection now for it now so I hear but I haven t had it as she is in foal
