Luna Rider full chaps - a few questions

I am looking at buying the luna rider full chaps can anyone recommend them?
Are they any good, ie waterproof in very heavy rain? and also what are the sizes like? I am a size 10 but would be closer to a size 12 than a size 8. The sizing guide I have come across is
S = 8-10
M = 12-14
Are the sizes correct or do you find they come up a bit big/tight?

I have some but they are at the yard so can't check size tonight! However, I do like them, they keep me warm and dry. However, they do mean you are less secure in the saddle as they are a bit slippery compared to jods! I only wear them hacking at home when my horse is behaving!
