lung scope info needed

It involves sticking a tube with a camera in it in your pony's lungs, by going up his nose and then down his trachea. Sometimes the vet will then pour some water down the tube, and then draw it back out in order to get a sample of any gunk etc that might be in there. It usually costs around 150GBP, including callout and lab work afterwards, if a sample is taken, maybe slightly more if your horse needs to be sedated.

i have just been up at glasgow vet hospitail with my friend and her horse last week to get this done what they done with the big guy was they sedated him then put the endescope down his nostril into his trachea and the down into his lungs they done a lung wash where the put sterile what down a tube into his lungs and then remove it for testing at the labs. they also took pictures and took a little biopsy as his windpipe etc was a bit inflamed. it cost my friend £350 and she got the results of the lung wash 3 days later pretty painless procedure

i think it epends what they are getting it done for and if the vet referes your horse to the hoospitail in amos case he went up to the hospitail to get it done but the vet can scope at home
