I lunge my mare alot but recently she has started to bit herself when i am doing up the roller. It is an old roller i've had it for years so i am thinking of investing in a new one. My instructor has a kieffer one which looks really comfy but they are £50 so want to make sure that this is the best one around before making the investment. As at the end of the day i have spent loads on good quality saddles but a poor quality roller can probably cause just as much damage as a poor qualty saddle. I already use a poly roller pad and thick girth sleeve. But was thinking if i got a roller with elastic inserts this may alivate the bitting herself issue when i do it up. all suggestions welcome

I've got a Keiffer one and I have to say it was a brilliant investment - best I've ever used. No only does it adjust to fit the biggest of horses, it has loads of well-placed rings. I've not had any problems with it rubbing, even when it's been borrowed by owners of the most thin skinned horses.

I've got the Mark Todd Training Roller recommended by my saddler and its fantastic. Have used it on all my horses with no problems at all (even with Pessoa which tends to pull my breaking roller forward). Rings are well placed and girth included even fits my deep 17.1hh ISH!! Think it was about £25. Hope that helps!
