Lunging and long reining.

Do you lunge and long rein in a head collar, bridle or cavesson? What is right?

I start in a caversson but once used to it i use a bridle

Usually start in a cavesson. Pony will lunge off the bridle though, shes quite strong and i have more control with an overhead check.

I use whatever works? I was using a bridle for lunging but now just use a headcollar for convenience and I think it works better for Dan...

I don't use a headcollar for either, I find I can't get it tight enough not to move without strangling them! I use either for lunging, depending on horse's stage of learning and what I want to achieve. Always use a bridle for long reining.
