just started to lunge my youngster who's 3, but he keeps on turning round towards me, have done all the basics of getting someone to lead him round etc what else can i do? thought of longreinging him on lunge would this work or just confuse him?

Longrein him on 2 lines - then lunge him on 2 lines, that way you can keep more control of the offside and keep him away from you.

Ditto this, my girl won't lunge keeps turning in so now either long rein or lunge on two lines, she works much better far less frustrating for both of us and also is much easier to change the rein leading to a more fruitful and entertaining session without all the stop starting!

I would say book in for a lunge lesson with someone, I did this and have had fantastic results amazing what you can do when you watch someone else do it.

One of mine got me to the state where I felt like I was in danger because she kept turning in on me and charging at me, took her to someone who lunges all types of horse every day who put her in her place (in a nice way) and remined me that I am in charge and not pony. It takes me a while but I'm getting there, the amazing feeling I had last week when she lunged properly for the first time ever was fantastic!!
