My little Lurcher went lame today after a run crying and holding up her left forepaw. Then walked it off in less than a minute. Two minutes later she pulled up again with right fore in the air! Again within a short time she was bombing about. Seems absolutely fine this evening. She gets walked several miles every day and is never routinely stiff sore or lame. She gets an enclosed field run a couple of times a month and this was one of those occasions. Appreciate all/any thoughts. Checked for thorns etc nothing there. No pain on palpation now in either leg.

Typical hound reaction to tweaking something probably. Our greyhound did this a few weeks ago, was slightly lame for 48 hours, put on metacam by vet. Two days later, right as rain, has not been lame since. I hope it will be the same with yours. I was already catastrophising as he is older, had a long racing career and injuries, but he has been his normal goofy bounding self ever since. Another one of mine would occasionally tweak a shoulder muscle overdoing breakneck speed zoomies and had to be walked on lead for a few days.

Thank you. Yes she is a princess. True sight hound! Don’t like to disregard lameness but she is fine now.

She is sound and happy this morning but I watched her really closely this morning after a little run and she tips slightly forward on her toes so maybe carpal joints?

She’ll stay on the lead now for a while for sure. Problem with her is she’s got explosive energy!
