The 2 rescues which I support are currently full
to bursting with dogs needing homes. Lurchers
and greyhounds make delightful pets who don't
always need lots of exersise contrary to popular
belief. Lots learn to live with cats and small furries
and are also excellent with children.
Both rescues give excellent back up and advice.
All dogs are fully vaccinated and neutered and most
are in foster homes who have assesed them ready
for new homes.
Please take a look at the lovely pointies that are
looking for their families.

Here is a pic of my lurcher link dog Morgan.
He was dumped at a vets by travellers with a leg injury
and is the most gorgeous lump you ever met

I love lurchers and greyhounds and hate how it has become status symbol over here to have one. The hoods bring their worked up dogs that they don't have a clue how to look after properly to the game fairs and cause fights etc. Saw a really horrid fight break out between two greyhounds and the owners just laughed and provoked them on!

I have a lurcher and we have always had them as family pets, if I could have another I would be over to yours like a shot. I can't look on those websites, its dangerous I would want to take them all home

I have a ex racing Greyhound and a Lurcher, they make the BEST pets, if i had room for more i would.....I think these sanctuary's do a fab job!.

nice collie x greyhound whippet lurcher is the best sort of dog to have, v intelligent, yet lays around sleepinmg all day

I have to agree with the above, people don't realise what great pets they make. I have two greyhounds and a lurcher and will always have that type of dog. People are often under the impression they need loads of exercise but this is a myth. One point against particularly when you have more than one they can be a tad accident prone - as one poorly stiched up greyhound can presently demonstate!

He's absolutely gorgeous! That face is to die for. Where did you get his collar?

There are some beauties on the lurcherlink site. If only I had more room/money/time/etc

Anna makes them and all profits go to greyhound gap. They are very well made and cheap too!!

They're stunning and there's matching leads too!! I can't find the link to the limited edition sale items but I can wait until she starts making them again in June. Thanks for that x

I'm absolutely in love with Salukis, but I love greyhounds as well. The ex-racers are actually fairly popular in the city, and it's pretty handy with all the enclosed dog parks about as the ones with lousy recall can still get their sprints in.

We have 3 in our rescue at the moment...inc HOPE the one I featured as a cruelty case(reminds me I will have to put somemore piccies on)
OOTP is having one of them

I had a lurcher and he was a wonderful dog, very loyal and affectionate - you did have to watch him though, as he was very clever - we used to joke that he could feed a family of four with his scavenging skills. One day he got out of the garden and came back with a 5lb bag of frozen mince - still frozen! To this day, we still don't know where it came from!

Do agree with that! My big old lurcher was a mass of scars and knocks. We used to joke at the vets that I would hand over my wage packet and they would would just give me back what was left at the end of the month....and it always used to just sneak in under the excess on the insurance policy!

How stange, I'll look into it for you. I know she isn't
taking any more orders until the end of may due to
making collars for the greyhound gap show which is this sunday. I'll see what i can do.

Thanks for checking into it FF. Also, on the link you posted it says that there's a link to her limited edition sale stock while she's not taking orders but there's no link on there that I can see?

We had an accident prone lurch- he had three toes and half a tail- everyone thought he was rescued but we had him since a pup, just got into loads of scrapes poor thing!

i use to have a lurcher who was a rescue dog and they are amazing pets. she was quite timid...and when my mum use to shout at us kids the only one that use to take notice was the dog!!! she was amazing and the most georgeous animal with not a nasty bone in her body..she is very much missed but will never be forgotton.
lurchers make amazing pets and are generally amazing around kids...recommend anyone to adopt one
