Lurchers can swim!

Oh wow! Whose idea was that? Did she just get in and go for it?

Ivy greyhound could never. She quite liked a paddle in the sea last year but she got a bit exuberant and splashed her own belly then was like "nope, I am out". And that's as far as it goes with water for her 😂

My friend lives on Hayling island. Invited us down this morning. She just went for it. She’s pretty fearless! I’ll try and load the video.

It's lovely seeing them swim.

Sunday was Summer's third or fourth time swimming, she'sbeen in a cave swimming, and a harbour and friends pond with their dogs. It was lovely to have so many like minded and positive people around and she swam about six times over the space of 40 mins in a little circle around me as I held the handle of her life jacket, then when she faced the bank i let go and she swam to it each time. She was happy for me to place her back in the water - the bank was a bit slippy and I didn't want her to slip and fall in.

She got a puppachino after which was included in the price.

The water looks lovely in your video. Meg looks like she's having fun. It was a lovely day, the water was surprisingly warm wasn't it?

My whippitiest lurcher loves to swim. She leaps into the dam most mornings for her mad constitutional across it even in winter.. crazy kid. People are using whippets Xs quite commonly for dock dog breeding now. 848c076ab1cbcb72bad9c5cd8157c5e5.jpeg
