LWP Wood Pellets...Pricing Query

Hi

For those that use LWP wood pellets, I have a question. When I have looked at the pricing through their website it asks you to state if using for wood burners or for other use (VAT applied to other use).

If you are ordering to be used for horse bedding, do you have to state this option and pay the VAT? Or if you dont state that it is used for horses, are you asked to provide proof of this?

if you are running a livery yard then you MUST declare that it is for horses and pay VAT at the standard rate. it is an offence to pay the incorrect rate of VAT

no not running a yard, would be for my own use.....

You don't have to provide poof to the supplier as to their use. It is up to you wether you want to be honest & pay the vat on the top or be less truthful & not pay the vat.

If someone puts in a phone call to VAT man about you though it is unlikely they will just claim the unpaid vat, they will probably fine you & make your life quite uncomfortable.

The decision is yours.

Dont worry I am not going to do this I was just asking the question!

As it would be delivered to a horse yard it would be fairly obvious that it was for horse use anyway!!

Unfortunately, the VAT on top of the cost of the pellets makes it considerably more expensive than the ones I am using now and I had wanted to go with LWP as I have heard only good things about their pellets but they work out to be about a £1 more per bag
