I have a grey horse. It least every second weekend I go show jumping but the joys of greys means washing him every morning before we go. We have hot running water at my yard but it's still not ideal. Also when we stay overnight at shows I usually have to use bottles of dry shampoo to get him clean despite him having a snuggy hoods sweet itch rug on but everything just seeps through. I was wondering do these Lycra rugs stop any dung or anything seeping through ? do they rub their coat ? As my horse has a fine enough coat as it is :(

Thanks x

i have a full lycra rug (from nose to tail) they definitely don't rub, they're actualy great if any other rug you have rubs, put the lycra on underneath and it won't rub, also great to stop from the mane being rubbed out. As to stuff going through yes it does as its just lycra but what i do it put her lycra on and a waterproof on top and works nicely. i also bandage her legs. also a proud owner of a grey on a mission to become bay (and green) :/

Ditto.

Lots of show sheen or similar after washing. Pads that go over hocks and knees under bandages help with keeping knees and hocks clean.

Only problem wtth the full body rugs is the belly sheild if you have a gelding! Mine has mastered getting wee all over it.

A tail bag or tail tamer is a necessity!

I also never go anywhere without white showing makeup and chalk block.
