What is the best thing for lymphangitis? Patrick has to stay in for the next 4 weeks at least due to laminitis and now his back legs are huge, I obviously can't walk this off so do I just bandage? Any help please I'm losing the will to live with this pony!

No unfortunately he can't walk at all with the laminitis as you risk doing more damage. Think a vet call is in order

I am a little wary of sticking any more supplements down him especially in view of the laminitis. He is already on 4 supplements. But thank you for your suggestion. Does cold hosing or anything like that help?

Id go straight to a vet visit on this given the complicated nature of laminitis and the effects on circulation.

Thanks Spaniel, just spoken to them - a skate board for the front feet was suggested so he could just use his back feet to walk but we figured this may not work!

I have been told to cold hose and bandage in this case thanks all for your help.

Also, could your vet not give you a diaretic to get the initial swelling down and then you can start bandaging etc etc.

Grace had it really badly last year as a result of her mud rash, and even now her legs swell when stood in. I'm off to buy some epsom salts and try those, and have also got some magnetic boots and am going to start bandaging again at night now she is in more often.

I don't know about epsom salts but will ask, thank you. I think we are very wary of giving him too much but I can't see epsom salts interferring with anything.

When I spoke to the vet earlier diaretics weren't mentioned at all, we are very wary of giving him too much though as the laminitis was brought on by steroids so we don't want to overload his system too much. I do have some magnetic wraps so will try those also. Thanks for your help, it is appreciated.
